Antonia's Lofaso invites you to look into her soul through her cuisine. Her food elicits a curiosity which grew from leaving the suburban spaces of Long Island and into the culturally diverse landscape that is Los Angeles. Inspired by her heritage as an Italian-American, Lofaso opened Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 that was highly acclaimed. Lofaso has been widely praised for her interpretation of traditional Italian dishes. Lofaso has been consistently praised by customers of Scopa for providing food that is authentic and deliciously enjoyable. Lofaso was a student to culinary masters, absorbing their techniques and taking risks. She didn't hesitate to take risks to pursue her intuition. She worked with numerous well-known celebrities, and soon rose up the ranks within Wolfgang Puck's Spago. Lofaso along with Sal Aurora partnered in 2011 in order to establish Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City. Her home was in Black Market Liquor Bar and her business alliances. Lofaso was able to enjoy the freedom to express her creativity that she desired through this collaboration. Black Market has no one direction in mind and that's the way it goes. One course may begin with chipped potatoes and peppers shishto. This is followed by Korean wings, meatballs, and lobster rolls. The key ingredient that binds this range of flavors is Antonia. Lofaso assesses her success according to her innate awareness of the audience she is addressing, but remains loyal to her own personality. Her memorable performances on Top Chef Chicago and Top Chef: All Stars showcased her distinct personality outside of the kitchen and her talents continue to shine in front of cameras as an expert panelist on CNBC's Restaurant Startup and in regular roles in Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child as well as ABC's Real O'neals. Lofaso collaborated in partnership with Penguin in 2012 and published The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 Recipes to make Delicious home-cooked Meals. This cookbook also describes her struggles studying at the French Culinary Institute and raising Xea. Lofaso states that her love in cooking is the primary motivation behind her successes.
